Team USA “We Are Team USA” & “Beyond the Medals”

Team USA recognizes and celebrates the expanded diversity of the teams representing the United States in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The inclusion of John Carlos and Tommy Smith, infamous for their black gloved protest stand on the 1968 medal podium in Mexico City, is a subtle, yet powerful acknowledgment of just how embracing of diversity the team has become. And this diversity is the reason for the incredible Olympic Games success of Team USA.
